Ski Italy!
Spent 1 week in the Italian Alps last year on my first Ski winter break.
Stayed at the Derby Hotel - very basic but friendly manageress. Clean hotel, basic but filling breakfast. Excellent hotel bar and perfect for someone out on the slopes by day and enjoying the Apres Ski by night!
I had a few ski lessons at the Snowdome in Hemel prior to the trip but the local ski school was excellent. The instructor Matteo Pela was fabulous and had me skiing by the middle of the week. Ski lift passes are okay priced and the restaurants and snack bars up the mountain are fabulous. I travelled up La Sportina each day which is where the ski school is located.
Travelled with Neilson who were great and tailored the trip to your needs. I would recommend the night time meal and ski down the mountain - I decided to Skidoo it down which was FAB!!!!!!
Nigh-time is fab and the Italians love the Apres Ski! The Irish bar is a good place to suck up the atmosphere!
I would definitely return but there are so many more places to ski!!
