The typically Swiss village of Lauterbrunnen differs dramatically from
every other typically Swiss village as it sports an incredible 300m vertical
cliff face as a backdrop and the stunning Staubbach waterfall (one of the
highest free-falling waterfalls in Europe) which can be seen from practically
everywhere in the village. If you are into quaint little villages, stunning
views and arguably the best hiking anywhere in the Alps then you will be in
heaven here. Walks in this region boast views of the Eiger and Jungfrau.
The activities and sights are endless, including paragliding and skiing.
From here you can visit amongst others; Trummelbach falls and take a cable car
to the top of the Schilthorn made famous in the 007 Bond movie 'On her
Majesty's Secret Service' This is truly an awesome place and one of the
jewels of Europe.
