Mission Beach is a stunning
tropical seaside holiday location on the northern Queensland coast, approximately 20 km north of Tully, just off
the Bruce Highway. Promoted as the place "locals come to take their
holidays", Mission Beach offers everything from backpackers and caravan
parks accommodation to luxurious 5 star resorts. In Mission Beach the
rainforest stretches from the mountains to the shore of the great beaches. The
general atmosphere is very laid back with loads of activities from kayaking to
skydiving.
One of the last habitats of the
rare large flightless bird, the cassowary, Mission Beach is indeed an idyllic hideaway
for humans and cassowaries alike.
