If you are religious, you can visit famous Temples of India Like Mata Vaishnodevi, Tirupati, Meenakshi Temple or Jain temples in Gujarat & Rajasthan.

There are other historic places like Taj Mahal at Agra.

Heritage:

Karnataka - the world famous Hampi, then Pattadakal, Aihole and Badami and also Belur and Halebid.

Maharashtra - Ajanta and Ellora caves, Forts of Chatrpati Shivaji.

Tamil Nadu - Brahadeeshwara temple & Palace complex at Thanjavur.

 

Leisure:

Kerala - backwaters at Aleppey and Kumarakom.

 

Frankly this is just a miniscule of what you can find in incredible India :-)
